Bronx, NY 10467 (On Gunhill Road)
Registration on Tuesdays and Thursdays  6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center
Program began October 13th, 2009
(Teens meet every Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30pm to 7:30pm)
 
Carlos Laboy, Mosholu Montefiore Community Center, Consultant/Instructor, is beginning to work with his team on their next news program called  "Teen 2 Teen Insider" Take#4. The team includes teens ages 13 to 17 who are being trained to be; News anchors, camera, lighting and a committee who write and directs the show under his direction. The group has already completed three broadcast news shows which are posted on MMCC website.
 
The project provides an excellent opportunity for valuable exposure in journalism & communication.
 
MMCC Teen 2 Teen Insider is a news program for teens by teens. The program provides information and news to teens in a way that's educational as well as entertaining. The focus of the program is young people. This program inserts the clear informed voice of teens into the adult-dominated media. If you are a teen and interested in joining our news team please stop by the center to register. We meet twice a week from 6:30pm to 7:30pm

ADVICE TO TEENS
On May 5th, MonroeProfessor Clarence Grant was the guest speaker at Carlos Laboy’s “Teen to Teen News Crew’s Speak Out” at the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center. Professor Grant, who has a background in helping empower urban youth, gave an inspiring speech about self-determination, the importance of staying in school and attending college, and how young people can have a positive affect on the society around them.
